Do Junior High Students really like to Rock Climb?  Yes.  They really do.  In fact, the thing that happens most often is that girls outclimb boys.  I know, I know, that doesn't really seem right - but it is true.  Why, one time a few weeks ago, a girl from East Middle School in Joplin just climbed right up the wall and stood on the 20' platform and yelled like TARZAN!  Sometimes in the Rock Gym we do fun competitions where you can test your strength and skill against your friends.  One game is kind of like HORSE in basketball.  You climb to a certain point, and if you reach it, you can pick ANY hand hold to eliminate from use for the climbers that have to follow you.  The winner is the last one to actually make the climb with the least amount of holds.  FUN - and possibly lucritive as you might win a coke from the cafe for being awesome! 

Pretty soon we're going to bring back Rock Gym Four Square.  BTW - when you come to The Bridge, we really just want you to have fun.  SO - if you'd like to play 4 square, or climb or get up a volleyball game, just tell us and we will not only make it happen, we'll probably form a team of super staff members to crush you.

If you are from out of town and you want to Rock Climb - this isn't really the place for you...SORRY!  Our facility is reserved for teens and for those organizations that already have a legit outreach to teens.  There are some really cool outdoor spots in Joplin, though!  At the Main Street exit (Cycle Connection Harley Davidson), you can find a city park that has walking trails and a pretty sweet bluff (35-40') for climbing.  You just need your own gear.
